Anyone who has worked in sales or marketing knows trade shows are essential to generating brand awareness and new clients, but boy are they expensive! Even worse much of the expense goes toward building a booth that only lives for two to three days and then broken down and much of it thrown away.

The Shop.org Annual Summit is the premier show for any eCommerce leader, so Magento wouldn’t miss it, but as our costs increased we couldn’t help but wonder if some of our expenses could be put to better use.

Magento Gives to A Better Chance

With giving back in mind, Magento has teamed up with the local Boston charity, A Better Chance/Masconomet, Inc. (ABC Masco) . This is an organization that brings qualified, highly motivated minority students from all over the United States to the prestigious Masconomet High School for their freshman through senior years. It provides an opportunity for deserving students who may not otherwise reach their potential to have a better chance. ABC Masco students follow a rigorous academic schedule and are required to participate in extracurricular and community service activities. Since 1974, A Better Chance has had more than 70 graduates and 100% have gone on to attend outstanding institutions, such as Boston University, New York University, Northeastern University, Stanford University, just to name a few.

Wondering How Magento and You Can Help?

Much of the furniture from the Magento Booth (#805) will go directly to the ABC Masco house to help furnish a fun, contemporary space for the boys to hang and play video games!  This includes some of our fun Magento orange couches and tables from Ikea and brand new flat screen TV from Costco. Also during the show, Magento will have throwback orange slap bracelets for show attendees to donate $1 for, with all proceeds going to ABC Masco.

Please join Magento at Booth 805 to get your youthful slap bracelet and help foster the education of enthusiastic students!
