The Magento Team are proud to announce the availability of Magento Enterprise Edition 1.6.0.0-rc1. With the latest version of Magento Enterprise Edition coming soon, this release candidate gives a preview of new features and functionality which are planned for the release later this month and a great opportunity for those already on Magento Enterprise Edition to get prepped for upgrading. Key features include the new CMS+ Content Management Engine and the new Targeted Merchandising Suite.
Other new key features:
- widget instances management
- rule-based merchandising
- customer segmentation
- cms page versioning
- cms pages hierarchy and navigation
- marketing personalization zones (banners)
Changes include:
- included all changes/fixes from CE 1.4 (including robust indexing and new taxes)
- php_mhash usage was removed, as well as removed from official requirements list
- customer balance and gift card accounts work as regular total models introduced in CE 1.4
- refactored staging module logging and event handling
- refactored admin actions log module - improved configuration structure, introduced processor observer model and event changes
- various minor admin UI improvements
- disposed of CE themes and skins and downloader in the package
