Magento Answers Update and Tips -- Week #5
Greetings Magento Community,
One of the many benefits of Magento Answers is the ability to vote. Let's face it, there's an unlimited amount of different Magento set ups out there, and not all of them will solve a common problem the exact same way. Using traditional forums, one single question might spark a 20 page discussion, and there's 3 similar threads just like it! Where do you start?
This is where voting comes in. Voting on an answer pushes it up or down the thread, allowing readers to find the best answers, and the best sources of information quickly. A down vote lets the responder to know that his answer might need more information, or is technically inaccurate. A vote up lets them know that the answer was helpful. As a 3rd party reader, you may learn something new, and your vote lets the responder know that you appreciate their answers as well. You can also comment on the answer, and let them know the reason for your vote.
One of our most popular topics on Magento Answers is How do I? with members asking a variety of questions ranging from minor administration to highly technical. With the amount of activity on this topic, and few questions with no response, I am inviting you all to check it out. Have a read through the questions and let us know how you feel about these answers. Did you ask a question in this topic? Respond with a comment and let us know. Vote up or down the best answers, or add your own. Soon we'll be releasing a way for you mark an answer as the best answer, and to flag members - as the best sources and voting is a good way to get started.

- Always ask complete questions. A question titled "configuration" won't get the audience's attention. Be specific!
- Did you ask a question? Make sure and come back and let us know if you received a good answer by voting and commenting.
- For troubleshooting questions, be sure to include the version of Magento you are using, as well as any other additional information which our Members might need in order to help you.

I can't stress the importance of adding a meaningful topic immediately after you ask your question. You can choose from a list of already existing topics, or create your own.
