Data center construction and operation firm TEAM Companies (www.team-companies.com) announced on Wednesday that the new data center in Waukee, Iowa it has built for integrated healthcare system Iowa Health System (www.ihs.org) will open at the end of the month.

Construction of the data center began in November 2008. The facility was originally scheduled to open last month, but was postponed because of bad weather.

Iowa Health System is an integrated healthcare system that includes many hospitals, group practices and clinics across Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska, which all partnered to build the data center in 2008.

The health organization will house its IT infrastructure in the facility while additional colocation space will be leased to other customers.

Partners have invested $15 million in the 46,000 square foot data center, which will be built out in three phases.

The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for January 28.
