Intellifiber Networks (www.intellifiber.com) announced on Thursday it has interconnected its fiber network to data center operator DuPont Fabros Technology (www.dft.com) Ashburn Corporate Campus located in Ashburn, Virginia.
The DFT Ashburn campus currently consists of four facilities totaling about 400,000 square feet of raised floor space and 78MW of critical load under management.
The flexible design with enhanced power and cooling capacity makes it "one of the leading data center facilities in the world," said DRT in the press release.
The company is currently constructing a fifth facility, ACC5, which it recently secured a $150 million loan to fund.
"Our customers require diverse, high-capacity fiber providers to be interconnected with our facilities," says Lee Kestler, senior vice president of sales and leasing at DuPont Fabros Technology. "The addition of Intellifiber Networks to the DFT Ashburn campus provides superior connectivity options and access to the entire suite of Intellifiber services."
Customers within the DFT Ashburn campus are now provided with full access to Intellifiber's suite of Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, which lets them route diversely from other carriers, both in and out of the facility.
These customers can also access the entire Intellifiber network, including major carrier hubs in Chicago, Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia.
Intellifiber Networks interconnects with major data, carrier and hosting facilities in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC.
Additionally, the company has lit capacity into a range of data centers in such markets as Norfolk, Richmond, Wilmington, Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
