Entering the Middle East and North Africa region, UK-based hosted Microsoft services provider Cobweb Solutions (www.cobweb.com) has partnered with local IT consultancy Media Solutions (www.mediasolutions.ae) of Dubai, UAE, to gain extensive regional and local knowledge of the outsourcing industry and provide this market with outsourced IT solutions and services.
According to its Thursday announcement, Cobweb Solutions is bringing its complete portfolio of Hosted Exchange, Hosted SharePoint and Hosted CRM, plus supporting services, to the MENA region, which will now be able to benefit from Software as a Services, which eliminate the standard costs of IT systems. To support the partnership, Cobweb has recently launched a regional website, www.cobweb.ae, which aims to educate users about the features and benefits of hosted services.
"The MENA region is a new and fast emerging market for us and we feel the partnership will have an immense benefit to SMEs in the region," Cobweb Solutions channel manager Mark Davies said in a statement. "With Cobweb's experience and expertise in the SaaS marketplace coupled with Media Solutions experience in the region, customers will get the best of both worlds."
SaaS saves companies around the world from annual software licenses and hardware upgrades, which take money, time and other resources to manage and deploy. These costs can become substantial for large organisations, while SaaS on the other hand provides for faster implementation and dramatically reduces the cash burden, allowing customers to pay monthly when compared to the traditional way of IT enabling.
Having earned its place as an IT enabler, SaaS is now starting to attract clients beyond the traditional SME segment, according to Media Solutions managing director Altaf Alimohamed. "SaaS is secured as one of the fastest growing segments in the information technology (IT) industry, both for SME and Enterprise organisations," he said in a statement. "During the last few months we have seen a change in the market, large organisations are now seeing the benefits of shifting to outsourcing."
