IT services consultancy group BroadGroup (www.broad-group.com) announced on Thursday it has opened the nominations for the awards
The final shortlist and Awards winners will be announced at the official ceremony and gala dinner which will be held at the Espaces Antipolis near Nice, in France on April 22.
The awards categories include Best New Entrant in European Data Center Market, Best European Colocation Facility, Best European Enterprise Data Center Facility, Best Regional European Data Center, Best European Green Initiative Award, Best New European Cloud Services Award, Best European Sustainable Data Center Design Award, Best Industry Cooling Innovation Award, and the Best European Managed Services Provider.
Two additional special awards will be given out, including the European CTO Award for Innovation in Data Centres and the Judges Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Data Center Sector. Those companies interested in submitting their entries for nomination consideration can submit them here.
For the first time, companies can send a video to accompany their entries which can be used to enhance their entry nominations. The videos of winning companies will be screened at the awards ceremony.
"Data Center operators confront many new challenges as the pace of change in technologies increases and market growth is sustained," says Ashley Davies, managing director at JP Morgan, and chairman of the judges panel. "These annual Awards continue to define best in breed benchmarks for service quality, management excellence and technical achievement for the European Data Center industry."
The judges panel for the 2010 Awards includes chairman Ashley Davies, managing director of JPMorgan Chase, facilitator Marion Howard-Healy, senior consultant at BroadGroup, panel members Andrew Harrison, director of ARUP, Bernard Lecanu, president of BLIC Consulting, France, and Alex Rabbetts, managing director of Migration Solutions.
The 6th Data Centres Europe 2010 will focus on enterprise customers of data centres and their evolving outsourcing needs as emerging private clouds, new technologies and market shift impact across the sector.
